Default 2003 SLE lug nut size

Hey all - first time poster. I have been having trouble (as I'm sure most of you have) keeping those silly black lug nut caps on my lugs. The dealer wants what I consider too much for a part that will likely need replacing in 6 months.

I have found a place online called colorlugs.com. They have been very pleasant to deal with through e-mail, and just need to know what size my lugs are so I can order the proper size cover. I cannot find the specs anywhere, and rather than remove the lug nut, I tried measuring with the cap off. This proved difficult to gain an accurate measurement as the exterior threads kinda throw it off.

Any advice? Exact measurements would be even better! She'* a beautiful car, in near-mint condition, and I want her to look good :D

it says right on the site that all Pontiacs are CL- 81.

If your lugs measure 19mm or 3/4", order size CL- 81

however, those look like cheap rubber caps to me, ugly

get some real chrome lug nuts

Yes, it does say that, but after measuring the lug on the wheel, and seeing the disclaimer about GM trucks and external threads, I don't think the measurement is correct. They may be cheap, but they're certainly a better option than the cheaper plastic caps that continue to break off. After searching on eBay for the past week, I can't find any caps for a Bonnie over the year 1999. Brasington in Florida quotes the same price as my local dealer, and GM Parts Direct is the same.

I don't want chrome, and these caps are sold in black.

McGard also makes them in color and are 1 piece lugs. no caps.

http://www.mcgard.com/search/default...avID=1&NavID=8

also I'm going to move this to the detailing and appearance section

Edit: sorry after more reading the colors do appear to be caps
but maybe the site will help in your size question.

but they do sell solid black lugs.

Thanks, Moderator. I ended up calling Discount Tire, who were very helpful. I purchased 20 American Racing black lug nuts for $42.00 installed, tax included. Not sure if they're chrome or matte, but they're better than the plastic caps

That sounds like a good idea. I've had two cracked since I bought it, but when I had the selling dealer replace one that was missing they threw in a couple more. But I've noticed a couple more are getting some discolored white spots. Black lugs sound like a good idea once I lose/break a couple more.

If anyone'* interested, the American Racing black shiny lugs for my 2003 Bonnie SLE look swell. The part number appears to be KT 17100SD-20D, 12x1.5x24. Great solution to the constantly breaking plastic caps on the OEM lugs. $40 installed.

Cheers.
