After the snow we this past monday, my father in law did this with the plow truck. The trucks been on it'* last leg for a while now, what with the huge hole in the floor, rotten rocker panels, ocasional under hood fire, slipping transmission and oh yeah NO BRAKES!

The wife and I were coming up the driveway that we share with her parents and we were talking about if the plow truck would get us through one more winter. No sooner had I finished saying "She runs good enough, it'* stopping that'* the problem." than we saw it stuck halfway in the ditch. My father in law wasn't hurt, except for maybe his pride, he had spent a couple hours trying to get it out with his Toyota and a couple comealongs with no success, about 5 to 10minutes of pulling with the Grand and we got it out.

(NOTE- I do not recomend anyone attempt the recovery methods used in this video, always be carefull when around tow straps and chains that are under tension)

Yeah, I miss the 40 MPG highway the old Bonne got, but she wouldn't have been able to do that.

Why was no one in the truck trying to reverse out of the ditch?

Becuase the tranny is shot, it wasn't too healthy before that. My sister was in it just to keep the wheels straight, but it won't move on it'* own. All that loud engine while I was towing it was from my father in law trying to get it to move on it'* own after it was out.

Yeah, there was a layer of ice under the snow I was on top of. I wanted my father in law to at least put on my motorcycle helmet I thought he was crazy for setting up the come-along so close.
