With the gas, Couldn't we just put a few bottles of octane boosted in?

octante boost is junk... on the bottle they say they increase octane by 1 point...

say you have 93 octane and you add a bottle.. .you now have 93.1 octane... JUNK

just fill up with the highest you can get

I don't know if that'* totally true. My father runs octane boost in his Corvette and never had pinging problems. Maybe it'* a brand thing?

The extra $5.00 a tank for 93 vs. regular is worth it. And I drive 500 miles a week. But I wouldn't run anything less than 93 (91 minimum, but I use 93), especially if you're modifying and driving hard.

I wonder how much the octane booster costs by the bottle when it only gets you an increase of .1 octane. Talk about a scam.

If you've been running normal gas for the 6 months this engine has run, I'd say that it may have done the damage we've seen.

Read any bottle of the stuff, It will say either..

1 Oct Point or 10 Oct Points...
I have found i bottle that said it and my brother called one of the Company'* to find out.

1 Oct Point = 0.1 Octane , so 10 oct points = 1 octane.

its just cheaper to get race fuel or just put 93 in.

I don't know, but 93 octane in a 10:1 big block engine will ping. With the octane boost it'* happy. I think he uses Octane 104 or something.... red metal can. He'* also mixed aviation fuel before to get a higher octane fuel.

you never said how much he is using. if he is putting a gallon'* worth in, then yes, it will have a much higher octane. but does that make sense? no.
