How are the Olds 88's reliability wise?

How are the Olds 88'* reliability wise?
I found a '93? or 94 Olds 88 Regency near me, for what it looks to be $1000. It is dark green in color. Are they as reliable as the Bonnes? I figure they would be since they are on the same platform. It has the nice aluminum rims and such, so I am assuming it has the 3.06 Ratio and sport suspension, but we will find out, I am calling about it tomorrow and possibly looking at it.

99% of the time they are more reliable. they are targeted toward older people..older than the people that bonnies are for..at least SSEis.
my 94 I bought from a 91 year old...original owner and it NEVER had any problems for 2 years..until I got t-boned and walked away unhurt.
they dont have the options the bonnies have unless you get a base SE model.
old people usually take care of their cars better and dont drive as hard as younger people.

I agree with you, Hans. That is why I like Buicks. The owners tend to be older, more affluent, (think more likely to have a garage- more likely to maintain the vehicle - often at the dealer) and less likely to be driving aggressively. All of which translate to a used car in better condition than sportier models. I like to buy Oldsmobiles, too. The only problem with Oldsmobiles comes when you go to sell them. Even before they quit making them, the 88 had a lower resale value than either the Bonneville or the LeSabre, and 98 Oldsmobiles are perhaps the most difficult used cars to sell. Since they quit makin' them, Oldsmobiles represent one of the best values in the used car market. Just remember that when you go to sell it!

Here it is. It is a '94 and has like a tan/brown? interior. It has column shift, but has the rims, so I am assuming that it has the 3.05 gear ratio, but we will find out, I am calling tomorrow to go look and drive it. Who knows, I may come home with it! 
Yes, the paint is faded and has chipping clearcoat, but that is no big deal, as long as it doesn't have massive rust on the underside, which most h-bodies don't.
