How are the Olds 88's reliability wise?

My mom has a 92 88 Royale with 170k. She just replaced the LIM for the second time in its lifetime, but she REFUSES to get rid of it. Air doesn't work, Radio is a joke, but the motor runs like new and still delivers power right when you need it. Now, she only drives 10 - 15 miles a day, so I would say thats the main reason why she has so few problems. I have some affection for the car myself, but as a daily driver over a large distance I would hesitate.

Around here, most of the farmers have Olds, Buicks, Pontiacs - around 88-95 - because they are so reliable. They last forever, even taking all the farm driving as well, and all the constant trips into and around town.

They just take a beating very well.

:( It sold today for the asking price, $1500.

Looks like I am calling the guy with the '97 SSE with the dead trans, that I posted before.

Yeah if you guys understand that the most I ever had on my own to spend on a car was $600, then you know why I have always had POS cars. There isn't much around here for under $1000, only things there are, are rusty POS'* or cars that need work.
