im still just a tech, so i might be able to do something on 10m next time im at my parents house, since i dont have any of my own equipment anymore... my dad would be thrilled to see me use it agian.

Theory has it, that the signal being transmitted, goes all the way around the globe and ends up back at the original sender. So they think they hear an echo, but really they are catching the tail end of the signal they just sent.

I can pick up some signals on my police scanner (does all the bands like down around 39.000 and up around 1000.000 somewhere). I always thought it was people in the same city or something. What freq are you guys on? (or is there way more to it?)

Ummm, your picking up the local stuff with the scanner. You would need a general coverage reciever that scans from 0.01 MHZ to 30 MHZ., all modes. FM, WFM, AM, CW, USB, LSB and the digital modes.
You can find us between 1.8-29.9, 50-54, 144-148, 420-540 MHZ. Those are the common bands. We can transmit all the way up and beyond 275GHZ.
