We ended up reusing the old coupler, before you start screaming, there was no reason not too. Haro wants my new one, and there is ABSOLUTLY no play in the old one. In fact, the old one is so tight yet that it had to be pulled off and pressed on. Meaning it will not slide off of the pins.

Yeah, I was pretty dumbfounded at how tight the original coupler was.
The LIM and the ports on the heads definitely benefited from just the cleaning, and then the light bit of smoothing the inlets on the heads and the more extensive polishing of the LIM and SC should really add some life to the car, as if it didn't have enough in it already.

I have this week off and I picked up a couple bits for the Dremel (should have just bought what you had left over), but I still need a flapper wheel. Anyhow, with the week off and my cousin just called to ask how hard it is to do almost the exact same thing in his 98 Regal GS as his LIM gasket is leaking coolant, so I am going to be dropping the LIM off at my brother-in-laws shop for him to put it in the parts cleaning bin, and then tomorrow night I am going to smooth the inlet and outlets on it, pull the 99 SC apart and clean that up a bit, and Tuesday or Wednesday when his new metal LIM arrives at the dealer we will tear his down and put the new goods on his car, much the same as you and I did, only this time it'll be during the day.

No, as there were no faulty parts about all we can detract from his claims is he replaced the LIM gasket and SC and TB gaskets as well, but none of which were bad.
He'* really just putting to test the moving parts of the engine now, of which only the rocker arms and valve springs are all that has really been changed, but still rocker arms and valve springs are so rare it hardly can count against him.

Just great, Travis. Now that car won't run any faster than 14.5 and your gas mileage will go to $hit! If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Not too bad actually. Very comparable to the amount that was in the LIM off my 99. Same for the SC inlet. The LIM off my 99 only has 114k vs his 260k, so it is very impressive IMO.

Yeah, what kind of oil were you using and what kind oil change intervals were you doing?

Personally...having pulled many of these 3800'* apart.. I think the valley looks average, or better than average.
