My mom may be picking up a 90 Bonne for 400 bucks (low miles) and the only problem with it, is that it needs a fuel line. Are the fuel lines on these plastic, or steel? If she doesn't buy it, I just may buy it.

Fuel lines are not plastic, they are metal and love to rust out.I found a 89 bonny at the yard with newer fuel lines and swapped out my rusty ones.

They run along the drivers side edge with the fuel filter around the drivers side rear door location. The fuel filter is metal and can be purchased localy.

When I had to replace some of my lines, I just went to the local auto parts store and got some metal fuel lines of various lengths and sizes. You also have to get the fittings that attaches to the new lines that you purchased, e.g. you will most likely purchase fuel lines with male fitting at each end, then just purchase female fitting that will attach to your existing fuel lines. You will probably have to borrow a flaring tool for the end of the existing fuel line.

I've also know people to just use neoprene fuel lines depending on the length needed. Neoprene is a rubber line which has been known to be used as a substitute.

Yes, I've also seen folks just use fuel hose line to repair. You should still make sure you get the correct hose barb ends on the tubing or face the possiblity of a fuel leak. I don't know about you, but fuel leaks are not my personal favorite.

It'* not that difficult to replace fuel lines with new, bends and all.

IIRC they are metal to a certain point and convert over to plastic.
