91 SSE Codes 27-28-29
Hello. As many of you know I am selling my SSE. (Sad day I know). I would like to get the car in top shape for the new owner. An issue I have had for awhile has been when I idle in drive for an extended period of time the SES light comes on. The codes are 27-28-29 which I know are trans codes. I was wondering what I could do to trace this problem and possibly fix it. I would like to eliminate this problem as I believe this trans issue has scared of potential buyers.
Thanks,
Jason

That diagram is pretty simple. Switches are normally closed in the transmission, for each gear. When that spefific gear is in, the switch opens, and that signal is sent to the ecm, so the ecm knows what gear its in.
Basically, you need to determine whether the switches in the transaxle are defective, the wiring is bad, or if its an ECM problem, and that diagram is just perfect for showing ya.
Read it a couple times, it should come to ya, like a puzzle. If you still don't understand, let us know spefifically, and we'll try to help ya out as much as we can.

Sorry for the long delay in responding. I am hoping to get about $2200.00 for it. I hate to see it go too but it was between it and the 91 Cutlass Conv.....The Olds won.
