There is nothing better than getting the afternoon off to go relax or go enjoy some time having fun before the sun goes down. But how do you take the afternoon off and still keep your job…
Here are some good techniques for sneaking out but still have a job tomorrow:
-Hang a jacket on the back of your chair
-Leave a half-eaten sandwich in plain view on the desk
-Schedule emails for delivery while you are gone, so it looks like you are still somewhere in the building
-Hold meetings outside the office frequently, so everyone is used to seeing you come and go
-Purchase an extra wallet and set of keys and leave them on your desk
-Schedule a doctor’* appointment at 1 or 2, pay the $20 copay, leave with the rest of the afternoon knowing you’re in good health
-Brew a cup of coffee and leave it steaming on the desk
-Tell a coworker you are downloading something and could he revive your computer from the screensaver
-Rush out as if it’* an emergency with no time to explain
-Work late one day, leave early the next, you’ll miss a TV show, that’* it

those are pretty good. esp the purchasing a new wallet and keys. i could do that. shame i dont have a desk.
my strategy is simple: im scheduled 40 hours. i cannot go over. so if i work 15 minutes late the first four days, i leave and hour early on the last day. and its just 15 minutes, i wont get in trouble for that.

I work aobut 44 hours a week on average. I luv overtime!! If I want to leave I just tell them I'm using how many ever hours personal time and then go.
Mos- those are some good ideas though!! I almost was going to use 3 hours pt Friday because my boss was bitching about how much our bonus was. He doesn't get it that if WE (my co-worker and I) are making a good bonus he sure as hell is making an even better one but he is stingy in that respect.
