Default PCM tray

I bought the PCM tray from Intense and had a few questions. 1. I could only use two of the holes to screw it down. They're both on the right side. Is this ok? The PCM doesn't seem to move as far as I can tell. Secondly, should the top of the PCM be covered? I get nervous haaving the top half of the PCM exposed. Thirdly, is engine heat a concern? The computer isn't that far away from the exhaust manifolds.. in the airbox it was protected from all engine heat. What have the rest of you done with your PCM'*? Just leave it looking like mine does now?

Is this the only way to mount it? I couldn't get the wires to cooperate with mounting it in any other configuration besidse this one. (this is on the Aurora BTW.. looks just like the Bonn eh?)

1. as long as the tray doesnt move or jar then your set. 2. The elements..ie your engine bay heat wont affect the PCM. Even tho its inside the air box before, the ambient temp of the car and the metal is still at engine temp, not harming the pcm, its fully protected from the elements. As long as you have a tray or some sort of way to hold it in place to the car, it wont matter.

I should think it was in the air box for reasons of protection, and possibly air flow across the PCM for cooling. I could be wrong though.

We've got at least a couple dozen running with exposed PCM'* with no problems from heat or moisture.

Now that I ordered a Thrasher, I have just a simple shield around the airfilter, but the pcm is exposed, and havent had a problem.

I know this is a late reply but... I am also running with the pcm exposed and have been all summer. Hasn't hurt mine, I have a fabbed up mount for mine to go on, just havent got around to doing it yet. I have mine velcroed right now and it holds just fine.

so as long as you got two screws holding yours in you are golden.
