Default Ford Boy does it again...

well, the taurus did anyway. for the longest time lately, the taurus <93 gl, 3.8> has been running hot <A-L in the NORMAL range>. so i get adventurous, and get some UV dye and one of them fancy light and glasses combo. the other night, i got under the car with the uv light, and found the dye all over where the water pump mates with the timing cover. no bid deal, just take the water pump off, new gasket, maybe pump broke, buy one, put back on, everybody happy. right? nope. looking in the haynes manual, it says you have to take the PS pump off <not too bad, theres always that one little hitch in a job like this>, unbolt the AC compressor <oh goody, that sucked last time we did it>, unbolt the engine from both right side motor mounts <this isnt looking good, but okay, maybe they are in the way?>, and jack up the engine <about this time i am frantically searching for a phone book to start my next "whats it gonna cost to have it done" spree>. my dad looks at the job, decides its gonna cost too much to have it done <never called around, but it aint gonna be pretty even if i did>. so, anybody care to venture a guess what i am stuck doing next weekend...

i know what i am looking at, and could prolly do it, but still a noob. you have to be a contortionist <sp> to do anything to this car, including spark plugs/wires. btw, i knew i was prolly gonna do it anyway.
