Default new headers installed. question on egr block off plates

i just installed headers on my car and i got the egr block off plates for it but it didnt really tell me where they are supposed to go. i think that one is suppoed to cover the hole on the header itself and im not sure where the other one goes. does it cover up the line that i took off of the headers and the i have to take the line off of the intake manifold so that it will suck in fresh air. cause i havent put them opn yet and the ses light came on and i got it scanned and it is cause of the egr. any help would be appreciated. thank you

You may need a new PCM to delete the EGR. And expect your KR to increase as a result. EGR'* are typically removed with intercoolers, not because of headers if I recall.

EGR'* keep combustion temps down.

You don't need to use the other plate.
Simply block off the header connection and keep the EGR active so it sucks in cool air instead of hot exhaust gas. That way you won't throw and codes.
Use a small filter on the open end of the EGR tube.
I have been running like that since before I installed the headers a couple of years ago. No problems.

Bill, you know that is the only difference between me and Pdad and I beat him by a couple tenths...with both of us on street tires. Doesn't that prove it'* not giving me any KR.

Except for his trans and TC. If you allow it to inject SOMETHING that'* fine. But blocking off entirely is strictly for an IC application.
