Im in the middle of pulling out my engine on my 93 se and I relize its still bolted to the ac compressor. And no matter what I do I can't reach the two (that I know of) bolts that go into the block the metal a/c lines are in the way and won't budge. Does anyone know what to do to unbolt it? I do not see any way possible how someone can fit anytype of wrench, socket, hand. To get the bolts off.

There is the option of torching it but ill leave that as a last option

Assuming there'* no refrigerant left to save, can you try disconnecting the _other_ end of each of the offending lines, and then just flopping the loose ends over the block while you lift the engine out?

The problem is that there the metal lines so I can't even bend the lines to get to the bolt. As for the refrigerant I don't know how much is left. but since it doesn't work it won't matter if I have to open a line to reach any bolts. I've tried to get a pic to post but its just plain too dark to get a desent pic. If I can manage to get a good shot I post it to show my dillema

Being that it'* a 93....There can't be much left at all....So just crack the line off and let it seep out or something, then continue working....

just make sure its all out before you decide to torch it that could get ugly real fast.

I've removed a 93 compressor. Had to remove the lines to do it.

Cut the lines I would avoid using the torch tho..

I have no problem pulling lines cause the ac doesn't work and wouldn't matter I don't even use the ac in any car I drive. It eats up hp. But if you don't see any post from me in awhile and you read in the paper that some green sedan blew up while being worked on you can assume that I might have missed littlehoovs post

Uh, is freon flammable?

Just unscrew the lines. Why cut them?
