Yes you heard me right
I was wondering who has heard of this and what your thoughts are on it. The military uses nitrogen in most of their planes for the specific reason that the pressure stays constant regardless of temperature. I think that in and of itself is pretty cool.
It apparently is supposed to be better for your tires and sidewalls. Folks also claim better gas mileage (?) and handling....
So whats the word? The military must be on to something if they are using it.
Doesn't NASCAR use nitrogen in their tires?
Here'* a link with some brief info....

I have heard of it being used in race cars. I think the reason it is used is so the nitrogen won't expand or contract when the temp changes like you had said.
Just like my one bud'* paint ball gun, he has a nitrogen system on there cuz it'* better when the air temp is not so warm. Because with Co2 you would have to wait for the Co2 to expand to get the most out of it. And if you playing in the cold with Co2 your pretty much * O L.

I have occasionally used Nitrogen for racing ( go karts). It will not expand with temp. Also regular air WILL leak out of your tires, where as nitrogen will not.
There are places up here in Canada that ONLY fill with Nitrogen. Actually I think it is Costco that does it. They have a machine that sits in the shop that takes regular compressor air and separates it. So you have a regular tank of compressed air which is actually nitrogen.
I think those other shops need to get with the times, lol.

i remember in Ohio that some places i called when i was gonna get tires up there, said they filled their tires with that to make them handle smoother and do better, or some crap like that
