Just bought some new break pads for my bonnie. I got them at Murrays for around 23 bucks. They have a lifetime warranty on them. My back brakes are still going strong so I will not replace the pads on them until they start acting up.

Can very depending on your style of driving.
I think I changed mine at about 36K. But I got
the car with 16K on it.

Other factors are the wheel and tire sizes and make sure there is brake fluid in your system, so you dont have to smash the brake pedal in each time you stop. Like mentioned allready, it really depends on your driving style which is the main variable.

I got my car used with 27k on it. Your 36k change makes me feel better!

You're right, how much abuse they get does make a difference. I'm pretty hard on mine. I'm hoping these lifetimes last a bit longer. I'm a fairly aggressive driver. Not the type to ride someone'* butt, but I like to accelerate quickly and of course that means more breaking too!

When you changed your pads, were your rotors still optimal? Mine look good.

regardless if they looked good you should a least get them turned
worn rotors have grooves in them the without turning them your pads wear uneven
so i would get new ones or get them turned

i am looking into replacing mine sometime this week. Pads have about 20 percent leeft on them and about 39K Miles

It seems that they(OE) tend to go in the 35-40k range. Are you all going with replacement OE pads or another type?

As for my rotors... I'm going to take your advice and turn them. My father-in-law works at a dealership and we're going to do the pads and I'm assuming the rotors together. I know he had mentioned something about it earlier.

Yes and had them turned. And changed to ceramic pads. I like Raybestos!

I heard the ceramic pads are much stronger and longer lasting, but can be harsher on the rotors, ie putting grooves in them. I don't know how true that is, though.
