Default 97 Bonneville SSEI will turn off in reverse but not in park

ok i have a 1997 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI and it will not turn off. I put it in park and can take the keys all the way out of the ignition but the car will not turn off. I have to put the car in reverse then turn it off and then put it in park to get the key out but the ACC will still be on. Anybody got any ideas on what it could be? any help would be greatly appreciated

I will have to say, that'* a new one. Does the car start OK when in park? Kind of makes me think the park neutral switch, or a bad ignition switch. Just odd that it will shut off in reverse, but not park. Have you tried in any other gear? Will it start in any gear?

Would you happen to have a remote starter in the car?

I think it my be a tumbler problem. May have shorted it at some point. Do you have any after market electronics on the car?
