Spark plugs will not 'spark' if they are wet with fuel. They are probably not sparking because the IM (thats the ignition module) isn't getting the cam/crank signal. So, the problem is, you keep cranking and cranking and the injectors are dumping fuel, but the system isn't sparking igniting the fuel. This is the same thing with an 1950's engine vs a 2000 engine.

Then are you able to verify if you are getting spark?
