Default Rpm drops

I have a Grand Prix 2003 and when I let off the throttle the rpms drop think it might be the torque converter not locking up but wasn’t sure was looking for advice on what to do thanks!

. . . at what speed?

Uphill or down or flat?

How many miles on it?

How many miles have you owned it?

It doesn’t matter what speed I have 200,xxx on it doesn’t matter uphill downhill or flat at 55 mph it runs 2500 rpm and at 70 mph 3000 rpm but as soon as I let off the accelerator the rpm drops to idle

How full is the fluid when it is warmed up and idling in Park?

Yes it does. This is why the dipstick denotes "full hot" in some form.

Are you checking the fluid when it is warmed up and idling in Park?

Okay so you've put at least 55,000 miles on it, and unknown additional miles prior.

Definitely do a service and change the filter.
