Default Help - did my UIM/LIM - engine suckingn water?

Hey guys. This is for my 98 grand prix NA.

Just got the car back together from doing the LIM/UIM job - now I go to start it and it revs real high, making some kind of water gurgling sound and then dies. Any idea of what I could have done wrong. I followed all the steps in the write up.

Could the lim be leaking if I accidentally over torqued the bolts???

Pull the plugs and look for coolant. Check the oil for coolant, check the coolant level.

ok i found the issue - i put the pcv valve back in without the oring so there was a huge vacuum leak.

Checked and didn't see any coolant in the oil. The exhaust does smell sweat tho - is this normal after doing a lim job? how long would it idle like that before burning out the moisture (assuming there is no leak)?

You may smell a little coolant after doing a gasket change. That should go away rather quickly. If any coolant is in the oil it wont burn away. You will need to do oil changes to get that out, even then it'* hard to get out. Post the code when you get it.

hmm I'm pretty sure I have an internal leak somewhere - there is a good drip coming from the exhaust pipes when the engine is idling.

i think i may just take it to the dealer tommorow and have them do hte job.

Ok got the coolant system pressure tested today - no leaks - I guess I was just paranoid about that.

THe code was for the MAP sensor - which I think I broke when switching UIM'*.

Thanks for you help Dan - looks like I learned a 200 dollar lesson
