Default grand am hates me take 2 MISFIRE!

okay so i have a random misfire. it only happens at idle.if the engine is under any load it wont miss. when i say any even the load from the A/C will cause it to mellow down. i have changed the plugs and wires (one plug broken one wire cracked) and it still misses (used bosch wires and champion copper plugs). im at a loss now. mabey vacumme leak?

Test the coil packs, Dan has a write up on how to check the resistance on them.

Do you have to gap those plugs?

the coils might be bad, and the 60deg engines dont like cheap copper. oem was for the ones i had were delco plat. i think. i wouldnt buy delco anything anymore though.

Random misfire can also be a symptom of failing fuel pressure. When was the last time you changed the fuel filter? Check the fuel pressure at the rail.

I'd be hesitant to answer because it'* not in the same thread as your original (at least that'* what it looks like by calling it "take 2").

Likely you'll get a lot of the same responses you did the first time.

Take to meant another problem take one was the brakes lol

Fuel filter was 2000 miles ago along with 2 injectors and a fuel pressure regulator but it will see if I can borrow a pressure tester

i would swap the coils around and see if the problem moves, and check the little tabs, they get corroded sometimes. for me single cylinder misfire is more often ign. problems rather than fuel related.
