Default G/F'* Grand prix...

is a piece of crap. Everyday she calls me and says the car wont go over 35, also on hills it chugs, on a bad day it chugs all the time, makeing the rpms go up and down. I always drive it after an it has only acted up for me twice, I took it in to a friends dad (dealer mechanic) and when we drove it for an hour, nothing seemed wrong, besides up one hill. The time I drove it that it messed up you could have it floored and it would just stay at 35-40 mph and rpm about 3k. Then it would kick in. Seems like a tranny problem to me and when it chuged up a hill thats what my friends dad said as well. Also after it was acting up with me when i let it idle it would almost stall out, but then would kick back in, and kept repeating this. Any sugestions?
thanks

Last time the TB and electronics in it were cleaned?
General tune up?

What does a scanner say is acting up on the car? If the problem is this bad..there are going to be symptoms of the issue. A real mechanic should be able to diagnose and find something.

could be the tranny, but sounds like an electrical problem rather than damaged components...

i just spent $2800 at aamco on a new tranny for my GTP :(

Should've posted on here about your trans troubles before spending the money on a new one. We probably could've gotten you a MUCH better deal. Since a rebuild kit for that trans is only like $160, its not that expensive to get it done if you know the right people. (although if you have broken hard parts then the cost will go up)

i think this might be her tranny, any sugestions on rebuiling it?? Me I have no idea where I would even start, I would have to get it done. The only think that has me thinking is that sometimes when it acts up and I let it idle it feels like it wants to stall. But I am almost positive the tranny is slipping up hills and durging take off on the bad days.
