I hadn't thought of jumping them together, but you're right that zeros everything out. I was just thinking that being parked puts some electronic parts in limbo . . . where they still have some power but are in an idle state or otherwise not doing anything. When that lasts a while, electronics sometimes do weird things.

But yeah definitely disconnect both and touch to each other for 10+ minutes.

I tend to lean this way as well. Even if my idea works, some part has likely started to see the white headlight at the end of its journey on Earth and will be likely to walk toward it again someday.
