hello all, first post here (been a lurker for awhile) and hope its not something thats been answered before.
i have a 2002 4T65e transmission thats been remanufactured, now my problem i guess is that i have a FWD 4T65e trans in my car. specifically a 2001 pontiac aztek. Is there, or will there be any major issues that i need to overcome to swap in the AWD trans to my FWD tek?
heres a few specs i guess to maybe to not be so confusing.
Remanufactured trans is a: 4t65e- code 2CXB
Trans in Aztek is a: 4t65e- code 1BCB
from what i have researched the torque convertors are the same in both transmissions.
one problem i have is the 2CXB does not have the extension on it, will the extension from my 1BCB bolt right in without any problems?
will the wiring give me any issues?
are there other things i may not be thinking of before i go ahead and start tearing the old one out?
again, sorry if i seem clueless on this topic but i figured you guys on here might be the best place to find out if all will work out.
No it does not, it still has the cap on the extension housing side from the test at the factory im assuming. Havent pulled it yet seeing it'* still full of fluid. Gonna try to upload a couple pics if that may help

between a Bearing style or Bushing style, which would be better? Is one stronger than the other, less problems etc?
if I went ahead and rebuilt my original transmission what would the "shelf life" be on it? Would I have problems say after 8 years of sitting around rebuilt? I'm assuming it would be best to put fluid in it for seals and whatnot but was wondering if the clutch plates or any other components sitting in fluid for a long period of time would be harmed?

Bearings are generally better than bushings. Maybe a transmission specialist will chime in with specifics.

Rebuilders rebuild then stack on a shelf without filling them. I'd do the same thing if I were planning this.
Another curiosity question: Why are you saving the original?
Alright. Thanks for all the input. I kinda figured that'* what you meant by slightly incorrect but thought I might have missed something.
reason being I'll keep the old one is I hate car payments, figured I could keep it around for when the reman starts going south. Dont plan on rebuilding it after the swap is done, just a down the road thing.

Install it then test it. When you're sure it'* okay, change the fluid for good measure.
Ten year old fresh fluid shouldn't be an issue, but after doing all that work swapping, it wouldn't be a bad thing to change it anyways . . . mostly so that in five years it won't be fifteen year old fluid in there.
