95 bonneville tranny won't shift
I am at a loss. I am not mechanically inclined and need some help. My bonnie will not shift into gear. I can move the gear shift into all gears but it won't read it through the tranny and won't move. It won't even shift into neutral to move it. Any ideas?????

Check your shift cable. It'* on the drivers side back by the fire wall. You will see it right on top of the transmission. If that'* moving and nothing is happening then check the fluid level.

If it'* broke, then it will need to be replaced. You will need to check where it connects at the trans, if no movement, then you need to check under the center counsel where the cable connects to the shift handle. If all is moving, then the problem is inside the transmission.

If it'* moving at the transmission, then the problem is inside the transmission. If the linkages are not moving, then you need to trace it back until you find the problem.
At lenght as well. I was the one who had that problem and fixed it myself. Try to run it up and down the gears very quickly, dropping it all the way down into 1st gear to see if it will move. You might be able to get the park rod un-stuck for a short period, but it will need to be replaced, and for that you will need to have your transmission serviced at a shop.
