Default 92 bonneville gas gauge

Just replaced the fuel sending unit, thouht it would fix the problem. But it didnt so took it out and inspected it, heres the crazy part when lifting the lever it worked so could be the problem plz help

did you make sure you are getting a good ground through the connector when in the car? thats a common problem and any resistance (corrosion) will make the gauge read off

X2 on making sure you have a good ground. If you don't then the gauge could be off because of it.

scratch some insulation off the tank side of the connector and get a resistance measurement to a good ground point, should be low and stable( not moving around when you jiggle the connector)
