About 3 years ago had the fuel pump and light switch both go out. (dont think they are connected but thats why im asking). So i fixed both got new switch and fuel pump, switch works fine no problems but fuel pump whines fairly loud now. Had the first replaced fuel pump go out and put in another. Worked fine for awhile but still whined. So i was thinking maybe when my switch shorted it messed up some wiring that Is connected to my fuel pump? Cause now when i drive it and it starts whining really loud it can make my car die. Just wondering if maybe my fuelpump doesnt get power and stops after awhile...?

(Also sorry if this is a bit confusing i just tried to include everything about the situation)

The two should be on seperate circuits and unrelated. It sounds like you got a poor quality pump.

Alright thanks i didnt think they would be connected but they both happened at the same time. And the pump i have now is either the 3 or 4th pump the car has had. I wouldnt think i would have that many bad fuel pumps.

Also what might be a good brand pump to get?
