Default 408 Stroker

We are a High School Land Speed race team. We currently have the stock 6 liter block in our 2006 GTO. Very soon we will convert to the GM 6 liter iron block and proceed to build a 6.7 408. What crankshaft would be the best for our Magnuson supercharged application? We will also be running a 150 shot of nitrous courtesy of Nitrous Express.

you are going to need serious strength parts for a build like that, this one is good for 1500hp, that way you have some room to turn up the boost.

what are you doing for drivetrain stuff?

I think they got the drive train under control Justin.

Me thinks they are here to toot their horn. Otherwise, why would they be on a general forum asking about a 408 crankshaft for a car that runs 175MPH?

Thanks for the reply, Justin! By no means are we here to "show off." We wanted to be sure of the quality of various crankshafts. We also seek expert advice from people with much more experience as our organization is run by a single Instructor leading various high school students. Sorry if we came off a different way, Mike.

mike has had a bunch of people for no apparent reason say they are some ridiculous thing, so he is a little gun shy.

eagle seems to have alot of positive things said. i dont know much about the supercharger that you are using but i am thinking its mostly a drag setup as is the Nos. i think if i was going to build my ideal engine for your application, i would sell the supercharger and nos stuff and get a couple cheap but big "ebay" turbos, build the bottom end for 1500 hp, and 8-9 CR, find a cam that is for that application, upgrade fuel as needed. the ls engines love big turbos and there is no reason you couldnt make well over 1000hp with that setup

Thanks for the suggestions on our build, but due to time constraints we would not be able to convert from a supercharger to turbochargers. At this point the only thing on our car that is stock is the bottom end of the motor, which is why we are looking to upgrade it before we run with a supercharger for the first time.

that supercharger only adds 100hp, so ls with heads and a cam maybe 500hp, people run 6-700hp on stock ls all the time, if its tuned properly.
