1997 Bonneville Transmission
What all transmissions will interchange with the one from a 1997 bonneville, no super charger, 3.8L????
I found one from a 2002 Grand Prix 3.8L, will this fit?
thanks

theres two non supercharges trans. the sse like mine has a different ratio. i was told that you can use the diff from the original to make it work.

Any 4t65e. If you get a 4t65e-hd, it'* not a big deal. Swap out the output shaft, diff, and diff cover and your all set. You will need to watch for newer ones, 2004+ I believe it is. Those have the park neutral switch internal. Yours is external. Only other difference might be the trans mounts, but those can be changed easy enough.

You can modify your car to accept a 4T65-E or -EHD; however, I can never remember what needs to be changed to support that.

Not sure if all 4T60'* had the proper case either. The 4T65'* have a different case in some year/models.
Your car requires this webbing and the added bolt holes for your transmission mount
This is one that can be used on a different body style (say W body) because they have a mount in a different location on the 4T65'*.
If we were talking about a 4t65. I wouldn't see the internal PNP vs external as an issue. Reason being is 97 would have used an external and they are easy to bolt to the selector and adjust properly. the bolt holes are on all of the trans cases for this switch.
One item that is tougher to get around, but not too tough is the click vs screw type cooler lines. Again..it wouldn't challenge someone doing a trans swap for more than a run to the parts store/jy.
