2009 G6, 2.4l ecotec, bogs at half throttle, vac Issue?
HI! I have the 09 G6, 2.4L ecotec w/102k. Engine is super clean! When accelerating it bogs when pedal gets about half way. Just bogs to where it'* like not getting gas at all, you got to let back off and feather it just to go about 30mph to get it home. Which is what I did and parked it right away when this happened! Codes that day were 0300. Next day I got 2 new ones-p0420 and 0171. Then after unhooking the battery several times, the only codes right now are 0010, 0013 and 0420.
Fuel pressure was 60psi, injectors good, plugs were factory still but fine, coil pack ohms good, no carbon tracks on plugs/coil packs anywhere, air filter new, battery new, Tps reading and 02 sensors readings good on the torque pro app I got.(hope it'* accurate)
Those 2 valve timing actuator solenoids are both bad I think. Their ohm'* are over the 8-12 they're supposed to be. Exhaust one was about 18 and intake one was like 15 ohms. Prob need to replace both of those.
Unhooked cat con at flex pipe to drive it with it straight from headers, still same issue! One BIG issue is the vacuum reading on that torque pro app, it says about 13 or 14 vacuum. I think it'* supposed to be 20-21! I cant find any vac leaks anywhere! Nothing! So if torque pro app readings are accurate, theres a big vac leak! Would explain a lot!
Also I did compression test, each cyl was around 95-100. But, engine was very cold, also, I didn't put any oil in the cyl and try again. I might should do that test again?
I guess the question now is(unless you know what else I should do, and that would be extremely helpful and fine with me!) if I should put the two new solenoids in, also change oil and possibly some new plugs since plugs are due per the GM maintenance recommendation?
I know with the vacuum reading being that low, with assuming the torque pro app is accurate, that putting the new valve timing actuator solenoids and new plugs prob wont fix it all the way. Not if theres still a vac leak afterwards. Where is this vac leak, that large at that?? I can do a vac reading from the brake booster if need be? I can get any reading needed and can do any tests needed as well!
The 1st codes on that 1st day were 0300. But after I parked it and started tests, the 0420 and 0171 came up. Then 3rd day of checks I got the 0010, 0013 and 0420. I've had to disconnect the battery some for tests- right now the only codes there are 0013, 0010 and 0420.
Battery is almost brand new, not old at all. I also read an article about the 2005-2009 GM 2.2/2.4 gm engines heads going bad and causing problems where the only fix was new heads. Not sure if thats whats happening here though. I just want to see if I can correct this bogging issue without taking her into dealership if at all possible. Thx for any help!

One other I was curious about is the hose coming off the manifold to the air flow box tube, right before the maf sensor. It slides on a couple inches before the maf. Is it supposed to have vacuum? Prob not but I thought I'd see. Other thing I wanted to see was where do you normally check for vacuum on these 2.4 ecotec engine? I guess I can go to the brake booster hose but wanted to use a different one.
thanks!
thanks!
