I dropped it off this morning and it was shifting ok got up to speed no problem which is good since a logging truck was hugging my *** I left a not e with the trouble codes and see what they say. I tried grounding the positive but the lights still on

You have to clear with scanner, that doesn't do anything

He wasn't trying to clear codes. He was trying to reset the computer based on instructions Mike gave him in post #8. He was only doing what he was told to do.

Thank you Roy. I only offered that advice based on 2 of the U codes he had given. I did a quick google search and found someone on the Caddy forum with 2 same codes, but the 3rd was different. Apparently disconnecting the battery and shorting the + cable to the ground did the trick.

really not a good idea you have things with memory retention like caps or batteries and that is essentially shorting the poles together.

Isn't any different if you accidently drop the positive cable to the chassis. Regardless if the battery is disconnected or not.
