Default 2005 Bonneville ttans issue???

2005 Bonneville gxp, trans issue???
Hi all, i have a 2005 bonne gxp, we bought car 3 weeks ago with 190k on it and 40k on replaced trans, seemed to be drving fine, we were told when we bought it that it needed rubber, and struts, no problem, changed rear struts, pads and rotors ran new air lines. Now a week later when i take foot off the gas the speedo sweeps a few times and drops to 0, when this happens the trans doesnt want to re-engage until nearly stopped then engage and repeat. When this happens cruise control also stops working, as long as i dont have to slow down it will maintain speed. So very confused, never had a problem like this with my 94 ssei any help would be greatly apreciated thanx....

Check for any codes.

Sounds like the PCM is losing speed signal from the trans speed sensor.

What Mike said ^^^^^^^

. . . and I'd look at telemetry from the OBD2 port and see if the PCM thinks the speed is doing the same thing that the speedometer is showing you.

Well back in the shop...
wife went to store and when she came out car wont start...
No tics no crank nothing...
Gm dealership says no fluid on dip and throws p1819 ...
No hard shifting or slipping, no power loss or limp mode no smell of burning trans????
only 40k on replacement trans..
was brand new instal.
is it worth the 1200 to replace the unit?
Or is a trans rebuild in my future?

So what'* wrong with it? Just the code.
BTW are they saying you need a trans to correct the no start?

I was thinking the same thing: [no start] = [bad transmission]

. . . ?

Only thing a trans will do to cause a no start would be the linkage sensor at the trans. Being a 2005, his dash should show exactly where the linkage is sitting via the PNRD321 display. If its not in P or N, it won't crank. If the trans IS showing P N, and the starter clunks when engaging, then catastrophic failure of the trans can be assumed, and or coolant hydrolock.

it just died wont turn over, lots of power everything lights up but no turn over, p1819 is the internal mode switch in trans, they are saying the trans over heated somehow and meltad the unit... Now car wont start and they believe trans damage probable
