Unhappy 03 gt temp gauge reads max

Ok this started after I replaced ETC sensor. I replaced temp sensor at thermostat housing due to my cooling fans not coming on, after that engine light went off but the temp gauge on dash reads max and I don"t have a Clue what the prob is. Any help would greatly be appreciated.thanx

If you unplug it do you have the same readings? The sensor could be dead out of the box, or there might be a problem with the wires.

When unplugged gauge went all the way to low. went back to store and exchange sensor. Still doing the same thing goes to max. Cooling fans are working fine now, even bled air out of the cooling system. going to check wires again. any other ideas?

If the readings change when unplugged then it'* a shorted wire, or a bad gauge.
