in your opinion(*)...
will i be able to get a low 13s (i know i am dreaming) out of the GTP, without
having to spend money into the transmission for 3 years (time it will take me to save up for rebuild HD kit and pay off finance.),
the tranny is in good shifting condition, doesnt yank or slip, and in performance shift its fast as hell. I will drop the pan to do full synthetic switch, and then i should get a better idea of the condition, but i am not worried- i am no expert though.
so u think it will hold up??
I am planning to upgrade the valvetrain including stage 1 cam grind.
thanks.

how much are you going ot be working with? the trans can get you in the 13'* but for pice of mind i'd upgrade to a single chain upgrade and/or stronger input shaft but the 13'* arent hard to get into with a GTP if i were you though i wouldnt bother with pulleys, intercoolers and all that crap id invest in headers and a gen 5 m90 and rockers and a good tune and you should be able to hit 13'* with no problem

at first i was thinking of the x1 cam, as it works with the stock valvetrain, Intense recomends the valvesprings to go with it, i am very excited about reving it to 6,500rpm i can just imagine the grown it will give 6,500 plus exhaust- might just go with the whole package.
thanks

Your tranny'* just a ticking time bomb, especially faster than stock. Could last a month, could last 5+years! Safest thing to do is just make sure you've got enough money for when your tranny goes, you can take it to a shop and get it replaced. If ya wanna go fast, the Intense Level 3 kit has put a coupla GTP'* in the high 12'*, and it'* just some easy bolt on'*. That'* what I've got on my car, it'* been on for about 20k miles, car has 106,xxx. Stock tranny so far.

If your trans must last you 3 years running 13'* I don't think you should be aiming for 13'* right now. Maybe start saving for a trans first until your finances will allow you to add power and start breaking things.

wow high 12'* sounds good.. thats a high price!!
Waiting till i save up for the tranny kit, is probably the best advise, but i cannot wait, ive been waiting for boost for the past 2 years.
I think i will just hav to live with the fact that it will go, something tells me it wont go right away the tranny feels in really good condition.
i think i will go with the x1 cam, springs, 3.0 or 3.2 */c pulley, headers, 3" dp, and 2.5" catback and a tuned pcm for now, i still plan to do all bolt-ons, and the car needs front suspension and upgraded mounts bad.
i am also considering a new or rebuilt ported gen 3- mine is making lots of noise around the nose, but there is no play at the pulley, so i think its the inside bearings or whatever wearing out.
does a gen V fit my application..to me it looks like the TB is on the opposite side as the gen 3??
thanks

im going to stick with the gen 3, for a few years.
