A rust-proofing compound applied to the underside of the car. I used driveway sealer on my old truck. Not pretty, but easy and cheap.
**NOTE** I am not recommending this for a Bonne or any other car where appearance is an issue. This was a FUgly old work truck...

My best friend has a 2000 GTP, and drives his '89 Celebrity to work. Those things run $h1++y, but do keep running!! His has almost 200,000 miles on it! Of course, you could get an older Bonne!!
