Windows any ideas
i got mine tinted with 5% all windows with a 8" Shadeband. (35% and 6" is the local law.) dude my brother used 2 of the 3 bad things to do after a tint job. Paper Towels and windex. turns purple right away. use a polishing towel used for like buffing wax or the yellow rags they sell at autozone.
Normal prices out here in Chicago land area are anywhere from 20-30 dollars a window. I paid a 100 for mine. Definently get it done by someone, unless you can buy the same tint from them or another shop. It definently isnt easy to install well at least the curved windows get alot of fingers.
i tinted the back of my fish tank a while back...and even that was a pain. i wouldnt even try it in a car. deffinately pay a professional to do it, not only because it is a difficult job....but the store boughten tint fades to that ugly purple color after a while.
Check out my tints on my web page. I had it done by a custom shop and they did a excellent job. I go there to get all things put on my car. He charged me $170 for all the windows. But I was watching them do it and it doesn't look easy. :P
Many moons ago I talked with a lawman in Canada and while he was writing me a ticket for my limo tint windows (driver and passenger) I asked what makes the window tint in Canada illegal??? (In British Columbia) he said the law was based on the film holding together the window so it acted like a large projectile instead of small harmless ones. This was the legal way they passed the law. They based it on safety.
Why say all this?? You’ll see.
I then asked what about a chemical tint?? You know change the glass color. He said it would be legal but only guys with "hotrods" did that kind of stuff. LOL I love messing around with the system. So find out your state law and if you can get away with it a chemical tint is the best.
