Ford would see that as a perfect casting.

It is pretty bad though, that'* why they should be ported. It'* funny because I have driven L36s that felt really potent, and ones that were total dogs. Now I see why.

I think EK98'* was worse overall. The top part of that port is about the best I've seen, but the bottom is pushing the worst.

Darn. How hard is this again? I don't mind spending some on Dremel bits and having the car down for a week/getting a junkyard LIM.

First timers plan on about 6 hours total to port match it (1.85" by .85"), do it on a spare from the wrecker.

Total time to install varies between 2 and 6 hours depending on experience level.

We don't have dyno numbers but everyone so far that has done the PLIM only (no other mods at the same time) has come back here with a shiteating grin on their faces.

Check out page 5 for the install and driving impressions.

i always thought 1.9 x .9 was ideal.. has it changed to .85 x 1.85?

I've been saying for quite some time not to over-port. Cylinder heads are 1.9x.9, you want to slightly UNDER port the LIM so it doesn't conflict with the entry of the cylinder head port when flowing.

You can still gain about 15-20% just by 'cleaning up' the odd shape and making it more rectangular.

The L67 LIM'* (both gens) already come basically rectangular, but a tad on the small side. Those can be slightly improved by SLIGHTLY enlarging them and reducing the inside corner radius to match the heads.
