I would like a good place to buy one, or if not JET, any other chip that is made. I have been only succesfull at finding GTP chips.

Well actually ANY CHIP will BE USELESS for a 97 Bonneville! The 96 +'* use a PCM INSTEAD of an ECU.
I offer two options to solve this though.
Option #1: JET Performance Power Control Unit (PCU)

Option #2: Hypertech Power Programmer Stage 3 (PP3)

I see by this company'* ad that they still should "modify" this item'* description as I had to do. PCM should read PCU. I was told this by a customer who purchase this unit from myself. Jet'* catalog had a typo. Just make sure it'* Jet'* P/N 68003

I was thinking of getting either the shift kit, or the chip, but I have heard the chip gets a lot more noticeable gains.

The chip improves your shifts, AND gives you power gains. A very good upgrade.

You all have to remember that the SERIES II does NOT use a "Chip"!
Only the Series I'* use a "Chip". It may seem simple to you all, but you can get yourself in trouble if you think that way as you'll NEVER find a "Chip" as one doesn't even EXIST!
