I have heard, and have read on here, that the intake mod is pretty easy, and has a ton of benefits (especially for the $). I looked through eBay for a kit to do it and came across this one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT
I have an '01 SE Bonne. What do you guys think? Looks like it would work to me. I e-mailed the guy selling it and asked him to send me the instructions. It was all pretty straight forward to me, except he stated that the PCM is inside the airbox, and would have to be mounted somewhere else in the engine compartment. I read through the custom intake post on here and didn't read anything about this. Is this true? Where/how would I mount it, if it is true?
Here'* the link to the .pdf he sent me:
http://www.tenghz.com/customintake.pdf
Any info would be appreciated. Sorry if I'm asking n00b questions, but h*ll, that'* what I am... lol
Thanks.

Way too short. You'll be pulling massive amounts of engine bay heat in.
And look at the shipping costs. Intake Power is the worst intake seller on eBay. Their filters are garbage. You'd end up paying over $50 for a pipe and filter, and throw the filter away.

That intake tube is too short to be effective. The best thing you can do is get a pipe meant for a civic, and cut a few inches off if it'* too long. Next, get a good air filter. Usually the ones found in those kits are garbage and will actually hold water if you fill them up. The filter of choice around here is the K & N RX-4750, which can be found at www.ajusa.com for the best price. As far as the PCM goes, it is to the right of the airbox, but not exactly part of it. If you install the filter vertically you should be able to clear it just fine. I think thats it?

Ok, glad I asked then. Thanks for the quick response too. I did think the tube was a lot shorter than what I was seeing in the intake thread I found.
I looked at www.ajusa.com and found the K&N filter. Any ideas on civic intake to pick up? I've found tons online (I'm sitting at work with nothing better to do
) and don't know which one would work best. I know I'd need one with a hole for the IAT to be installed...

B) What kind of air filter is included with air intake kit?
We use only Genuine K&N Performance Cone Air Filter. But you can recharge your K&N Filter every 6000 - 8000 miles with K&N rechargeable kit which you can get it easily at you local autoshop

I'm just saying that it looks like he/she has taken stock of negative comments and at least begun providing a K&N w/the kits.
On the other hand, their understanding of the 3800 S2 and Bonnevilles is obviously limited. They list these as good for '97-2005 Bonnevilles and only good for Series II engines.
I picked up that intake kit a long time ago...back when I first got my car and didn't know the difference. Like they said earlier, it was waaay to short. It puts the filter right above the exhaust tubing. It'* basically a $30 Autozone rice pipe, cut in half with a hole in the back and a few cheap fittings.
The K&N filter that was included as an option in mine was the only good thing I got out of the deal...which I could have got cheaper anywhere else.
