Hey everyone,

I was just looking for some imput on trying to squeeze some more power out of my 1995 SE/SSE?

*Background on my car*
The dealer I bought this car from was Wheeler in Johnstown, PA. I have a 3.8Liter 3800 Series II SFI V6 engine. My car is an SE but you have the option "value equipment gorup - 1sd/h4u, the sunroof, traction control, a/c electronic auto and 16" alum mach face x-lace wheels with 16" touring tires. I have the the sport luxury edition. Options were installed by Pontiac. Wheeler just did the pinstriping. In the end I have determined it to be an SLE. It was a Pace car with 300 miles on it before I bought it from a dealer in PA in 1996. Total mileage is just under 86000. Its painted Bright Red and it has a power sunroof. Only damage to the car was a knocked off side mirror. But I replaced it.

I was wondering what you guys have in mind that I could do to my vechile to achieve some more power out of my engine. I searched around on the web, but I kept getting led around in circles and never really finding anything that could work on my car. What ever you have in mind, please post it? Superchargers, Turbocharges, chips, etc.

Thanks for your input.

I have a 1995 Bonneville SE that has the body of an SSE. I have the 225-hp, 3.8-liter V-6 Engine. It was an SE that has most of the features of an SSE. It was a Pace car with 300 miles on it before I bought it from a dealer in PA in 1996. .
you have an SSE with the series II 3800 that produces 205 hp, unless you have the Supercharged engine

I dont understand what "it was an SE that has most of the options of an SSE" means

where are your foglights on the bumper, are they higher and close together or are they low and far away?
does your car look like the one in my sig?

please post pics

Alright, I apologize, but I am not extremely knowledgable about cars.

Its the 225 hp 3.8L V6 engine. I don't think its supercharged. I never actually saw a supercharger under the hood, but its possible it could be there.

My car was an SE, but they modified it with many SSE options due to the fact that they used it for a pace car. I contacted Pontiac and they told me that my car is an SE, but it is listed as an SSE due to the modifications to it.

My car looks like very much like yours, and the fog lights are on the bumper. and they are about 1 to 2 feet apart.

I dont have pics, but I am getting a digital camera in a few weeks, so then I'll post some pics for you.

well that is really strange.

I was not aware they made a 95 with a 225HP motor.

the vin L (used in SE/Most SSEs) was 205HP

the vin 1 or L67 (used in some SSEs and SSEis) was 240HP
{EDIT: ACTUALLY, I was wrong thinking 95 *'C'd was s2, actually 225, my bad. So a Supercharged SE? awsome.)

On a SE that has to be somewhat rare if it is orginal if the vin shows it is an SE.

what is your vin?

I believe what you may have is the 1995 */C Se which is the rarest of the Bonnevilles. It is also the lightest supercharged Bonneville.

If it starts like 1G2HX521..... it should be an SE SC, 1G2HZ521 SSE SC, 1G2HY521 SSEi.

If the 8th digit is a K instead of 1, it'* 205 hp naturally aspirated. Does the top of your engine have a black thing with six lumps, or a grey thing with ribs and a belt around a pulley on the left end. Black and lumps is NA. Grey with ribs and pulley is SC.

All right, heres the info I got from my VIN Number. The dealer I bought this car from was Wheeler in Johnstown, PA.

You have a 3.8Liter 3800 Series II SFI V6 engine. Your car is an SE but you have the option "value equipment gorup - 1sd/h4u, the sunroof, traction control, a/c electronic auto and 16" alum mach face x-lace wheels with 16" touring tires. You have the the sport luxury edition. Options were installed by Pontiac. Wheeler just did the pinstriping.

Sry i took a while to post, I had to dig up my records.
