Default Urgent - Paging DeathRat any anyone else

I just installed TOG headers for Grand Prix GTP on my 2002 SSEi. The headers are mazing. However, the stock trans dipstick and tube are too long and wide to clear header. My shop just cut the tube and stick as a temp fix. However, now I can't check or add trans fluid. Scott Cook (BadSSei) recommended the dipstick and tube from a 1998 Grand Prix GTP. It has to be this specific year, or one identicaly to it. The one in my 2001 GTP is not right size.

Does anyone have one or can get me one, sometime today if possible? Would you able to overnight it to me? I will gladly pay all shipping, price of item, and modest reward for your assistance.

My dealer service department is not open tomorrow, and they do not carry this in stock, would have to order.

Thanks,
Anthony

Well I'm afraid I won't be much help either as we usually do not stock any indicators (dipsticks) or tubes in stock.

Default How would I order one?

I sent an email to gmpartsdirect. I plan to go to my dealer on Monday. Would a repair shop be able to get me one tomorrow, maybe from their local distributor?

Does anyone keep this in stock or does it always have be ordered from factory?

Would you know part number, and if there are any differences between GTP dip sticks and tubes for '97+ ?

Do you have tips on checking/adding fluid in mean time?

They said I lost between 1/2 and at most full quart? How bad is this?

They cut my stick and tube down to a few inches that is sitting right under header. Would someone be able to get in their with a funel and siphon tube?

Thanks,
Anthony

It usually a warehouse itm only since not many people need them changed!
I can find out the P/N'* for you Monday though.
Unless it'* leaking then don't worry about it for now.
A Trans funnel should work (you know those long metal ones).

Default P/N and Driveable

Thanks a lot! I sent GMpartsdirect.com another email with VIN from someone'* '98 GTP off autotrader.com. I let them know it wasn't my car, and just for them to determine exact dipstick.

Do you think its safe to drive this car in the meantime, its not leaking, but may have loss 1/2 to a full qt of trans fuild during install?

I know a guy with a 2001 GTP had the same problem. A friend of his had a chrome dipstick from his small block chevy that worked. I am not sure if this will work on the Bonneville but they should be the same setup. It is just a dipstick that was purchased at a local parts store to detail the engine. It actually looks really good under the hood of his car.
