I had a 3.5" on there, and had to go back to the stock 3.0" to keep it from hitting the underdrive water pump pulley.

Regardless, that won't change the wrap diameter like adding an idler between the SC and AC compressor will.

Pete, the 2.2" has been on the car for 2 months with zero KR now. The red pulley is 2.0".

Below is a pic of the idler concept, but it'll be a little lower and to the left:

Continuing to take notes.

Keep in mind that's not a stock WP pulley. That monster upsets everything in there. I had to modify the torque-axis mount to clear it, had to drop tensioner idler diameters, now need to change belt length but MAYBE not now. Depends on where exactly that new idler goes. Just make sure the ICM bracket on a Riviera is in the same spot. It may not be. It may only be off by a little, but it might upset trying to copy my idler mounting location for you.

There are quite a few differences under the hood of a Riv with the L67 when compared to a Bonneville.

From what I can tell the ICM bracket in the riviera is similar but I understand you point. I can't wait to see the results  .

willwren,

How were you able to hold the pulley, the tape measure, and camera all at the same time?

I wonder if that electric WP that INTENSE has for the S2 would work for the S1? Or if the motor from it could be adapted?

That pulley's aluminum, it'll BURN before it glows. Better invest in a fire extingusiher!

That thing is either going to make every bat in the neighborhood horny or kill them!!

The miracle of photoshop.

Correct. Harofreak00 photoshopped that tape measure into the pic. ;)

In this pic:

The idler is simply wedged in between the belt and the ICM bracket. More magic for you.

ChaseSmith 06-24-2006 11:44 AM

That is going to be some crazy belt wrap once you get that second idler on there. But are you going to do the second one with a solid mount, or the movable mount like the stock one??

willwren 06-24-2006 12:38 PM

Solid mount, with variable mounting locations. I don't want a second tensioner on the path to fight the other one.
