well got my zzp water pump underdrive pulley 10 minuites job for 3 hp at 6000 rpm but it was also a test to see the shipping .place order on the 31 august zzp got my money order on the 7 sept ship the same day got it here in montreal today the 17 not to bad because there 2 weekend involve

3hp? You mean 3-5 times the normal variation of back-to-back dyno pulls?

I'm not out to bust your bubble, but you can't characterize or prove a 3hp gain. And if you could, it wouldn't make much difference.

(and I run a 10% UD WP pulley myself)

Edit (now that I'm sobered up a bit and have some coffee):

The 3hp number has always been a pet peeve of mine for the above reasons. While it probably saves a bit of power, I think it'* impossible to determine exactly how much. There is a RUMOR that our water pumps cavitate at the high end, and run more efficiently with an UD pulley. I personally think my 10% is too much for a daily driver. Not sure what the ZZP is.

The bad side of this for the S1 L67'* is this will prevent using the 3.5" idler if you have a smaller SC pulley. The idler will hit the WP pulley, and the belt will rub against itself. This is part of the reason I added another idler off the ICM bracket on the Zilla.

But at lower RPM'*, the cooling is less efficient (at least on my car). With the OEM and replacement water pumps. This is part of the reason I run a pretty heavily drilled 160 thermostat now.

Bill...when you mention the possibility that "our" waterpumps cavitate at the high end. Which our are you speaking, S1 or S2. Reason for my asking is the part number is different. As we all know there were many changes from S1 to S2 for various reasons...one possibly being a cavitation problem.

Hard to say that. I don't recall where I read it. Probably ClubGP, which would be the S2 pump.

But we also know even on the S1 pumps, there are two different designs for the impellers. One stamped, one cast:

Most of us don't stay at WOT long enough for pump cavitation to have an effect on temps.

If more cooling is desired, it might be worthy to test flow between this area and the T stat to find the open stat flow rate and the u turn flow rate. (Leaving the cooling ports to Tb open.

im running a block upper on my stock UIM for a test at the same time to see is there a difference in power between the stock and the dorman and so far my cooling temp is the same .mine is block whit jbweld
