Both require oil to function and both produce boost, causing the same wear (if the turbo and superchargers you're comparing produce the same amount of boost, obviously if one produces more, it'll wear at the motor more)

Engine yes, but transmissions are also very expensive to fix. As has been mentioned earlier, a supercharger with loads of bottom end torque will have you looking for a rebuild sooner than a turbo that takes time to spool and has a gradual increase in power.

Supercharger uses 8 oz of supercharger oil in the snout.
Turbo is a plumbed line to and from the engine oil system.

I can't agree with them wearing the motor more. We have documented cars on this site with 300K plus supercharged. There are many well documented cars on other sites with turbos in the higher mileage.

From a wear perspective..a turbo probably wears itself out quicker than a supercharger. But overall they are both pretty good if you choose a reliable build.
