Turbo & Cam Question

Both can be purchased used.
A charger and turbo both have their benefits. Charger: Belt driven power, it'* ready before you touch the throttle. Best way to frag a trans in short time.
Turbo: Exhaust driven, right sizing the turbo will keep the lag down. Amazing power. Easier on the trans off the line.
Total money vs power, turbo wins. If I used the money I spent to get my charged car where it currently is on a turbo...I'd have a pile of extra. Keep in mind, I'm no turbo expert and have built only charged cars so far... but c'mon guys. Do some reading before we pump misinformation all over the place.
And once again we talk from a lack of experience.

I'm with Billboost on this one. I see people putting down HUGE numbers with turbo kits on the stock bottom end and running 12'* in the 1/4 mile with a tune on w-bodies. A turbo will get you a lot farther for the money than a supercharger will on these cars, from what I've seen.
Ever think about aftermarket heads as well? Stock L67 heads flow like **** (worse than 3x00 heads) and new heads would make the engine come alive.

I'm a big fan of knowing about what is being done before doing it. Understanding the mod, how it works and the ramifications is the best way to go into any mod.
Sure... they are all over many other sites, W body sites. You may not find 100% complete, but then show me a top swap that is 100%. I usually see parts missing from both setups. Nothing that would slow down someone doing some research and knowing what they plan to put on their car.

I have done research on both before and written a couple college papers on the topic and in my opinion superchargers are better. Keep in mind I'm also a person that tends to keep a first impression pretty well. Superchargers in my mind always first relates to muscle with turbos bringing the word ricer to mind. And I like the whine of a supercharger better than that of a turbo.
My final advice SpinEm: Find out which your bf likes the sound of (in person not by watching videos), that is if he cares some people like both, and decide how much power you're going to go for before making a decision.
Brian.. I was and have been a die hard SC guy since getting my first Bonne in 05. One quick ride in a turbo'd Monte Carlo and I thought twice and began the research.
The car had a mild turbo, mild cam and was setup properly. Even from a low dig...it packed up and left the scene quickly. Looking into the costs, I've been impressed.
Nice thing about a turbo is that you can cruise around all day w/o ever engaging it or having any extra fuel usage from it. No one sitting around you would know you have anything under the hood.
My supercharged car... uh..it'* obvious something is going on under there.
