Tricking the IAT??
Is this a good thing? i imagine it would allow for more fuel to be dumped into the cylider, but is there anything i am missing?

Don't waste your money.
It doesn't work if it is colder that 47^ (I think?) outside because that is what the resistor makes it think it is outside. Also, the PCM will learn to work around it quickly. The only possible use for it would be to maybe install it right before a 1/4 mile run, then take it out when your done. The gains from something like this is very minimal. This item has been brought up before for discussion. If you search back I'm sure you'll find a few threads on it. |
once your o2 sensor sees that you are running rich it will override the little 1 cent resistor thats inside.

You guys are right one here, the o2 and maf sensors will pick up on the resister trick and the pcm will compensate. This will happen at the track too after a few runs so it really is impracticle. The best way is to draw in real cool air and have the iat placed in its intake flow.
