And just to add one more to the ones saying faster shifts are better... like rogue said... it'* a tradeoff. You're spending less time with the clutches wearing against each other, but you're increasing the impulse on the internal components. The higher stress will reduce their life, but in our application, it'* hard to say if it'* an appreciable amount. And as he hinted at, softer shifts would put your tranny out of service faster.

So... it'* a tradeoff. But one that you're safer going with firmer shifts.

I also just read this, factory setting are usually aimed toward longevity and reliability. While some like a firmer shift and others a softer shift, both have as many have mentioned pros and cons.

I've never noticed a difference with the shift buttons...Nice to know someone actually was able to document a difference

In my particular case, with the raised line pressure and shift kit, my Diff is definitely going to be the weak link in my drivetrain. But Diff'* can be changed independently at considerably less cost than an entire trans.

I feel a considerable difference at any throttle pecentage between normal and perform shift.
