The firmer shift is in the shift for a shorter period of time. This is better for performance, as you're in the power quicker after each shift, and better for longevity of the clutches and bands in the trans.

so then for every day driving, would it be best to leave my car in perf. shift or normal shift? Ignore the minimal difference in gas economy. My car is on its 3rd transmission so that is my utmost concern.

I wonder, should i order one from seriesoneperformance.com..for my bonneville...help my tranny out a bit..its seemingly alright now, but why not help it?
Matt,
The Jet Stage 2 will help with that in another way (raising the line pressure to firm/quicken up the shifts). When you have your trans rebuilt, have a shift kit installed as well. The combination of the two are the better way to do this than an adjustable modulator in my opinion.
FYI, the Zilla'* trans is in the process of recieving a shift kit right now.

I have heard good things about increased line pressure, Jet stage 2 would be a good move.
