I stayed a few hours after work with my co-worker and master grease monkey Rex. We got the old L67 out and pulled the crank off since I need that dust shield. Took the oil pan off and pick up tube off the L67. Tomorrow or Wednesday the new motor should be in.
Here are some quick pictures before I take a shower and eat dinner…
L67 out with pan and pick up tube off
Notice the small bits of metal on the edge of the pick up tube

But yeah progress is going good, just feels slow. I’m going to go ice my wounds from the day and relax.
Damn torque converter bolts

Something that just hit me. While you have the pieces off. Add the $13 false knock kit. this is easy to put on with everything apart.
ps..I know exactly how you got hurt..lol

Today I got my old oil pan cleaned up and ready to go onto the L32. I spent a lot of time on the work bench wire wheeling the pan bolts clean of the pipe sealant. I installed the pan and made sure to goop the corners by the front timing cover and rear main. Really I didn’t get much done today. Tomorrow the motor will get my INTENSE oil pressure kit and then hopefully I should be able to drop the motor in the car. I also plan on cutting a piece of square or round tubing to size and using that as my front motor mount.
Old L67 pan look at the pieces of metal. They were non ferrous so I don’t know if that’* from a wrist pin or piston but I’ll find out later when the old L67 gets tore apart.
L32 Pan left & L67 pan right. They look the same to me. I’m reusing the L67 pan due to the fact that new pan had a dent in it (most likely my fault)
A few shots looking up into the bottom end of the L32. Some of you may like these
Sticker basically says 04SuperCharged
But the block says 3800 Series 2. (The L67 & L32 use the very same block.)
Came home and I had my Donut gaskets and ARP header bolts here from INTENSE. Gotta love the 1 day ground shipping cause they are only 165miles away from me.

Thanks for the pics of the bottom end. Nice to see the OEM markings on the caps. Kinda hard to go wrong with placement.
Nasty looking sediment in that pan.
No reason why the blocks shouldn't be identical.
You should note the engine serial numbers for future reference.

{edit} I forgot to mention above that the balancer was reinstalled with our friend MR. IMPACT.
