Default tires

well I just got back from Sears and they are runningn a special on sumitomo tires. Buy 3 get one free for a set of sumitomo it is 390 I looked on tirerack and for 4 and shipping it 368. Has anyone used tirerack and any stories and are H rated tires good enough or should I move up to Z rated tires or will the difference really affect the performance for the couple time I track it other wise it would be for daily duty

I can't comment on the sumitomo tires but, the Tire rack has been good to me. (3 sets of tires 4 by end of summer)

I've ordred from tirerack as well with great results. Just remember that you will probably have to add on mounting, balancing and waste removal so add 25-30 per tire depending on the shop that does your installs.

An H rated tire is sufficient for our cars, however the Z is the prefered by me because they have always seemed to balanced up better for me and have had less vibration. Its for sure a better built tire.

I did a quick search and there are tons of references in threads to TTA'*. Seems to be well liked around here.

the goodyears are ok, just stay away from the RSA'* they are horrible, they came stock on most bonnevilles and in fact i bought mine with them on and they were bad.......the tires i got to replace them which are good to look into if you are willing to spend some $$ would be the pirelli p zero nero'*....they are Z rated and ive had nothing but awesome performance with them, they are great in rain, snow and ESPECIALLY dry traction
